Review of The Ambassador Seoul Executive King Room

This is a review of my stay at The Ambassador Seoul, where I booked an Executive King Room for a solo vacation. The Executive Room includes access to the sauna, but unfortunately, I couldn't use it because I overslept. Breakfast was served at The Kings restaurant on the 1st floor, not at the Club Lounge. However, I woke up just 30 minutes before the breakfast closing time and decided to skip it. 😢 Even after visiting 300 hotels in Japan, I only missed breakfast twice. But this was the first time I missed a reserved breakfast during my 50 stays at Korean hotels. 😭 Well, it can't be helped! It's my fault for not setting an alarm and sleeping late. Plus, the room was so cozy, with excellent soundproofing that blocked external noise and even noise from neighboring rooms, allowing me to sleep deeply. Yes, the room is very quiet, except for the noise from the Nespresso machine when it's in use. Being at the end of the hallway made it even quieter. The view from the room is a cityscape that stretches from Lotte World Tower to the distant Bukhansan Mountain. With no obstructions in front and the hotel located on a hill-like elevated area, the view from the 17th floor feels like it's from the 30th floor, offering a great perspective. The view towards Namsan shows terraced houses in residential areas, while the panoramic city view from Bukhansan to Lotte World Tower is more impressive here. The Namsan Tower view from the lounge on the 18th floor has a different vibe compared to the mountain views seen from Hilton or Shilla hotels. The amenities here include Penhaligon's Quercus, which I previously encountered at the Utop Boutique Hotel in Gwangju. While other guests mentioned their refrigerators were fully stocked, mine only had a single bottle of Bundaberg. I considered asking about it but decided not to, as it might have been a change in policy. The room is quite small, measuring just 28 square meters, making it one of the smallest Executive Rooms in Seoul. However, the remodeling was well done, with essential furniture, a sofa, a desk, and chairs, as well as a well-designed bathroom, so it doesn't feel overly cramped. I found the staff's service, greetings, and smiles somewhat lacking. Perhaps the hotel aimed to compete with Shilla, Hyatt, or Banyan Tree after its renewal opening. I had high expectations for the bread at The Lounge & Bar during my first visit, but it was somewhat underwhelming. Hopefully, they'll improve soon. Thank you.
