Shaoxing Kuaiji Mountain Dayu Mausoleum (Part 1)

The story of Yu the Great, who controlled the waters and did not enter his own house, is believed to be known to all. However, not everyone may know that there is a Dayu Mausoleum in Shaoxing. Dayu Mausoleum, the burial site of Yu the Great, is located at the foot of Kuaiji Mountain, 3 kilometers from the Shaoxing city area. Historical records indicate that he was the founding monarch of China's first dynasty, the Xia Dynasty. The main structures here include the Dayu Mausoleum, Dayu Temple, and Dayu Shrine. There are also the Xiangdian Hall, Dayu Mausoleum Stele, Dragon Beam (Figures 1-2), Xianruo Ancient Pavilion, Statue of Yu the Great (Figures 15-19), Stele Corridor (Figures 9-10), Yu Well, and Yu Cave.
