But it is more like villages of house high on stilts. The houses can be as high as 5 to 10 meters above ground. It is necessary for such architecture because the area is prone to flood as it is a flood plain near Tonle Sap. Tonle Sap is the largest fresh water lake in South East Asia and it is connected to mekong river. The livelihood of the community here are fishermen and crocodile farmers.
