24 Hours in Singapore

📍 I flew to Singapore early Thursday morning, had meetings all afternoon and evening, and then flew back to Shanghai on Friday morning. In total, I was there for 24 hours. 🗓 Because it was so early, I couldn't check into my hotel room. It was pouring rain outside. I walked from the Funan Center Lyf Hotel through the underground passage to The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, where I happened upon an installation exhibition titled *Breathing Space*. ❤ *Breathing Space* is a response to Singapore's ever-evolving built environment, reflecting themes of belonging, practicality, and memory in the urban landscape. It features large-scale architectural structures from 1960s Singapore streets wrapped in construction materials such as plastic sheeting and safety netting. Artists Lim Soo Ngee and Yang Jie explore the concept of "breathing space" using recycled materials and objects to bring the installation to life. Coffee pots, lunchboxes, and cooking tools evoke images of street vendors and scenes from bygone days. ✅ The walk to The Esplanade immersed me in art. The free exhibitions in the theater's public areas are quite good. For example, "This is Me" is a themed exhibition for children. ✅ Before returning to the hotel in the evening, you can go to the Singapore River and watch the boats go by.
