#sginsider The Merlion located at Merlion Park is 8.5 metres high and weighs 70 tonnes, with the body of a fish & head of a lion, shooting water from its mouth. This Merlion was designed by Kwan Sai Kheong and sculpted by Lim Nang Seng. First unveiled on 15 September 1972, It symbolises Singapore's origins as a fishing village, known as Temasek. The Merlion faces east because according to Feng Shui, that is the direction that will bring the most success!
