Songyang, an ancient village in Lishui, Zhejiang, hidden from the world

Recommended by 'Lonely Planet' and 'National Geographic' as 'the last secret land of Jiangnan'. Yangjiatang, Songzhuang, and Chenjiapu, it takes half an hour from Songyang County to Yangjiatang, with winding mountain roads. From Yangjiatang to Songzhuang, it's about a dozen kilometers and takes more than half an hour due to the steep slopes and sharp turns. It takes an hour to cover the 20-plus kilometers from Songzhuang to Chenjiapu. Yangjiatang Village, known as the 'Golden Mini Potala Palace', is the most famous original village with a large cluster of old yellow buildings built against the mountain. At the entrance of the village, there are two ancient camphor trees known as the 'couple trees'. Songzhuang Village represents the last secret land of Jiangnan, a shooting location for 'Chinese National Geography', a very primitive village with virtually no commercialization, a classic 600-year-old stone arch bridge, and clear streams babbling through the entire village. Villagers wash vegetables by the stream, surrounded by bamboo forests, tranquil and comfortable. Chenjiapu Village, representing the cliffside villages, is surrounded by mountains and backed by steep cliffs, with misty clouds and a vast sea of clouds.
