Bear Lake Transylvania

Sovata truly is a gem in Transylvania! My visit was dominated by the incredible Ursu Lake, a unique heliothermal salt lake where I effortlessly floated. The therapeutic mud and warm, salty water felt amazing. Beyond the lake, I loved exploring the "Road of Salt," a fascinating trail through a landscape shaped by salt deposits, leading to the "Salt Arboretum" – a mountain of salt covered in surprising vegetation. The town itself is charming, with beautiful parks perfect for a leisurely stroll. I also took a trip to the nearby Praid Salt Mine, an incredible underground world with its own adventure park.
