Stockholm Old Town (Gamla Stan) The history of the old town dates back to the 13th century, but most of the buildings were constructed during the 1700s and 1800s. It features charming cobblestone streets, narrow alleys, faded mustard and rust-colored townhouses, and a splendid maze of meeting squares.
