As I stepped into the grounds of Anping Fort, a sense of traveling back in time quietly washed over me. This ancient fortress, standing tall in Tainan's Anping District, has witnessed the ebb and flow of Taiwan's history. From its construction during the Dutch period to the wars and transformations that followed, the fort bears profound marks of the past. Standing atop the fortress, I was filled with reverence for the bygone years.
