A trip to Anping where time and nature interweave

This building, originally a warehouse, is now covered by dense banyan tree roots, forming a wonderful symbiosis between nature and humanity. The sunlight shines through the gaps between the leaves, and the interweaving of light and shadow makes it seem as if you are in a time tunnel. The tree house retains traces of history; the mottled walls and tangled branches seem to be telling of the prosperity and vicissitudes of the past. In the afternoon, I strolled along the nearby Anping Old Street, tasting local snacks such as shrimp cakes and candied fruits, and feeling the strong local flavor.
