Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Mandarin Cafe (The most difficult buffet to book in Taipei)

The Buffet located in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel only serves lunch. As seats are limited, it is quite difficult to reserve a seat. The interior of the store is gorgeously decorated with artworks everywhere. The seats are also quite comfortable. The menu allows you to choose your main course, which changes with the season. There are three main courses to choose from. Duck breast is free of charge, but cod and steak require extra payment. I chose steak for the main course this time. The steak is very tender and can be eaten with lamb liver, but the portion is a bit large and it is easy to get full. I suggest sharing it with family members. The buffet bar doesn't have much variety but has everything you need. The salad appetizer area is also the most amazing, with vegetable pots in small pots, as well as a variety of cheeses and black pepper beef, which are of much higher quality than other all-you-can-eat restaurants. The food in the cooked area is relatively ordinary, with no particularly special dishes, but all are of excellent quality and delicious. Drinks were another part of my experience. The self-service bar had watermelon juice, vinegar, and tea to choose from. In addition, there was a menu on the table offering freshly brewed teas from various countries. The tea was of high quality and could not be compared with other all-you-can-eat restaurants. The dessert section is also excellent, each dish looks very beautiful, but it is a bit too sweet and must be drank with tea. The prices here are very high, more than 2,000 yuan per person, and the steak costs an additional 700 yuan. It is suitable for families or couples with a larger budget. However, due to the limited variety of dishes, it is not suitable for people who like to eat a variety of dishes. Most of the drinks are tea, so it is very suitable for people who like to drink hot tea. In conclusion, the quality of Mandarin Cafe is excellent, but the dishes are few and special.
