The Tranquil Wuyanling

Wuyanling National Nature Reserve of Zhejiang (Taishun, Wenzhou) 🐦Spring Impressions: 1️⃣Natural Greenery: While hiking, you're surrounded by lush greenery. There are hardly any other tourists, so you can walk through the mountains and forests in a quiet atmosphere, breathing in the abundant negative oxygen ions, which feels very relaxing. 2️⃣Gurgling Water: When walking on the trails, stepping stones, or wooden bridges, the sound of flowing water always lingers in your ears. The warm sunlight shines through the gaps in the trees, scattering spots of light of different sizes on the crystal clear water surface, which feels very healing. 3️⃣Splashing White Waterfalls: Along the way, you'll encounter three or four waterfalls, large and small. Each one has a pure, white color, as it is the source of the Feiyun River. 3️⃣Azalea Sea: When you get close to Baiyun Peak, you can see azaleas. At this time, Wuyanling has an additional red memory in your heart, but a considerable number of azalea trees only have flower buds or green leaves. The azalea sea here may not be spectacular until May or June. 4️⃣Greenish Haze: When you arrive at Baiyun Peak, the highest peak in Wenzhou, your vision suddenly widens. As far as the eye can see, all the trees are integrated into a hazy greenish mountain view. 🐦Location: Northwest of Taishun County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, adjacent to Jingning in Lishui, Shouning in Fujian, and other places. 🐦Transportation: If you take public transportation, you can refer to the following route: Wenzhou South Bus Station ➡️ Taishun County North Passenger Transport Station ➡️ Siqian Terminal Station ➡️ Wuyanling Scenic Area Gate. 🐦Tickets: With the Zhejiang Tourism Annual Pass, you can enter the scenic spot for free three times a year (not available during holidays). The normal ticket price is CNY 50 per person. 🐦Popularity: On the day I went, I didn't enter the park until about 9:30 in the morning. According to the staff, I was the first one that day. During my entire tour, I only encountered two tourists besides the staff. Perhaps there were only three tourists that day, which shows that it is really quiet here. 🐦Accommodation: 1️⃣According to my understanding, the Kaiyuan Hotel near the gate of the scenic spot is operating normally, and the price of a standard room is just over CNY 300. 2️⃣The cheapest room in the B&Bs in Siqian She Ethnic Township (with buses to Wuyanling) is just over CNY 100. 3️⃣The cheapest hotel near Taishun County North Passenger Transport Station is tens of CNY per night. 4️⃣If you go down the mountain from Baiyun Peak to Jingning, there should be two regular routes. The short one is near Baiyun Resort Villa, and the price should be above CNY 200. The long one is near Dongyang Village, where there is a large lake with some resort B&Bs on the lakeside. The cheaper ones are also close to CNY 200 a night. However, please note that according to the scenic spot's notice, the road down the mountain from Baiyun Peak to Jingning may be closed this summer. It is best not to take this route, and the transportation is very inconvenient after going down the mountain here. 🐦Other: 1️⃣This is the habitat of rare animals such as Cabot's Tragopan, but you usually can't see them. I didn't see them this time. 2️⃣When I returned, because I estimated that I would not be able to catch the bus from the scenic spot gate back to Taishun that afternoon, I went down the mountain from Jingning. I thought I would have to stay overnight in a nearby village, but I was lucky enough to be taken back to Wenzhou by a big brother who happened to be driving by. Time: Apr 30, 2025
