But what truly captivated me were the grounds. The Japanese Garden, especially, felt like stepping into another world. Waterfalls, winding paths, and serene bridges all came together in perfect harmony. It was a place to breathe deeply and just be. And then there’s the deer park — home to herds of red and fallow deer, roaming free in open fields. I caught sight of a group grazing near the lake at golden hour, and it was absolutely magical. For families or those wanting a bit of fun, the working farm is a lovely stop. Friendly animals, seasonal events, and a rustic vibe make it a favorite for kids and adults alike. The formal gardens are beautifully maintained and diverse — from Italian borders to the tranquil rose garden. Best time to visit? Spring through early autumn is ideal. I went in late May — cherry blossoms had just finished, and the gardens were bursting with early summer color. Autumn is gorgeous too, especially in the deer park.
