Chill time at Tbilisi botanical garden

#cityplaybook #tbilisi #georgia Visiting the National Botanical Garden in Tbilisi turned out to be a nice escape from the city noise. I went on a weekday afternoon and it was almost empty - just a few locals walking their dogs and some tourists taking photos. The entrance fee was small - just 4 GEL. The garden is huge - way bigger than I expected. There are different sections with plants from all over the world, but what I liked most were the old trees with those thick, twisty trunks. Some of them must be hundreds of years old. There's a small waterfall area that's really peaceful, with benches where you can just sit and listen to the water. The paths are well-maintained but some go uphill, so wear comfortable shoes. I spent about 4 hours walking around without even covering everything. It's not a must-see if you're short on time, but perfect if you want some quiet nature in the city. Bring water in summer as it gets hot, and some snacks as there are no places to buy anything once you are inside. The garden is easy to reach from the old town - just follow the road behind the Narikala fortress.
