📅 Itinerary Day 1: Depart from Yining to Qongkushitai. Have lunch at Tekes Bagua City and refuel—make sure to fill up before heading to Qongkushitai as there are no gas stations in the mountains. The drive to Qongkushitai involves crossing four mountains, with stunning scenery and many viewpoints along the way. Due to the rainy and chilly weather, we spent some time at the starting point of the Wusun Ancient Trail near Qongkushitai's front village before heading to our accommodation. Our stay was at the summit of the third mountain in a pastoral village called Kayingde Kushitai, which offers breathtaking views. Day 2: Watched the sunrise at the homestay, took photos, and then set off for Ku'erdening. If you're not in a hurry, consider staying a few more days—the village is incredibly peaceful, with only the sounds of birds, livestock, and dogs in the morning, creating a wonderful atmosphere. 🏨 Accommodation Recommendation Highly recommend staying in Kayingde Kushitai—great value for money with spectacular scenery. The snow-capped mountains serve as a backdrop, and at night, the sky is filled with stars. Opening the curtains reveals grasslands, wildflowers, and snowy peaks. We stayed at Baiyu Holiday Resort for just over 200 yuan per night. 🍴 Food Recommendation Ate at a restaurant diagonally across from the homestay entrance, dining inside a yurt. The food was delicious—a huge plate of authentic beef ribs for only 188 yuan. 📌 Tips Bring warm clothes!! Nights in the mountains are freezing. Even in late May, we felt chilly wearing down jackets and sweaters!
