Zhejiang Taizhou - Kuahe Platform

Kuahe Platform is located on the mountain behind Guoqing Temple in Tiantai County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the most culturally and mythologically significant high-altitude viewing platforms in the Tiantai Mountain area. According to legend, during the Tang Dynasty, the eminent monk Sima Chengzhen practiced Taoism here and, upon achieving enlightenment, "ascended to heaven riding a crane," hence the name "Kuahe Platform." The platform is naturally formed from rock, standing tall and majestic. From the platform, visitors can overlook the entire Guoqing Temple and the foothills of Tiantai Mountain. When shrouded in mist, the view resembles a celestial realm, while on clear days, one can see layers of mountains and idyllic countryside in the distance. The scenery is both magnificent and serene, exuding a spiritual aura. Beside the platform, there are stone inscriptions and an introduction detailing the historical and religious significance of Kuahe Platform, making it a must-visit spot for devotees and photography enthusiasts alike. Visitors can reach the platform by hiking along the trail behind Guoqing Temple. The path is tranquil, surrounded by lush forests and fresh air, taking about 20–30 minutes to ascend.
