[Tokyo/Kamimeguro Hikawa Shrine] A shrine at eye level with the Shuto Expressway

Surikami Meguro Hikawa Shrine is located along the Shuto Expressway. The grounds are at a similar eye level to the expressway, so the stone steps leading up are quite steep. The shrine's origins date back to when the Kato family, vassals of Takeda Shingen, invited their local deity to the current location. There is a Fujizuka mound within the shrine grounds. There is an entrance to the side of the stone steps, and just like climbing Mt. Fuji, you start from the first station and when you reach the grounds, you'll have reached the summit.
