I had the chance to visit Gotokuji Temple, a beckoning cat temple. All of these beckoning cat statues were offered to the temple by devotees. Whenever there is something they want to pray or make a wish for, if it comes true or their wish comes true, they will bring the beckoning cat to make merit because it is believed that beckoning cats are a symbol of happiness and good fortune.
