Mandarin Oriental, as a new generation of "Three Great Houses", returned to the origin of Tokyo🗾 - it was the landmark of "zero kilometer" and the starting point of the transformation of Edo Tokyo. 📍 Location The hotel is backed by the big landlord Mitsui, connected to the nearly 100-year-old Mitsui Honkan🏢. As one of the cores of the first phase of the Nihonbashi redevelopment plan, it once carried the city vision of "revitalizing the old city center". Unlike the port area where the new rich gather, the Skytree obviously does not have the traffic of Tokyo Tower📸, but above the Edo legacy, overlooking this super building, calmly witnessing the alternation of the old and the new, it is very much like the attitude of the old money examining the new era. 📍 Public area The drop-off area is simple and restrained, and does not deliberately pursue a sense of luxury. Entering the lobby, the giant fan-shaped device and the image of cherry blossoms interweave into a visual focus🌸. During the stay, the professionalism of the three Japanese front desk staff was really questionable🙃. After being immersed in Nihonbashi for a long time, they seemed to have been infected with the arrogance and alienation of old money. Ironically, the foreign staff were warm and thoughtful; the templated apology letter was received, but it couldn't be cheaper.
