[Tokyo] Zojoji Temple, one of the seven major temples of the Jodo sect with a history of 600 years

We went to Zojoji Temple, located in Minato Ward, Tokyo, adjacent to Shiba Park 🚶 Located at the foot of Tokyo Tower, a landmark of Tokyo, it boasts a history of about 600 years and has a history of prosperity as the family temple of the Tokugawa family. Six Tokugawa generals are said to be buried here! Zojoji Temple was also heavily damaged in the air raids of World War II, but the Sangedatsumon Gate, which escaped the war damage, is the only structure that retains the appearance of the time when it was greatly constructed in the early Edo period, and has been designated as a registered tangible cultural property of the country! The grounds are so large that it is hard to believe they are in the middle of Tokyo, and the "Oden" hall that appears before you as you pass through the Sangedatsumon Gate has a majestic appearance that makes you look up in surprise... 👀 There are also many other historical heritages left behind, such as the "Kosetsuden" with its painted ceiling and the Tokugawa family mausoleum, which are works by 120 Japanese painters! The highlight of the event was the sight of the small Jizo statues called Sentaikoiku Jizo standing in a row, each holding a windmill!
