Visit the great Spanish master El Greco in his house in Toledo

#celebrateit El Greco was a Greek painter as well as sculptor who spent a good part of his life in Toledo and had the last moments of his life there. He has been seen as an artist with a highly individual dramatic and expressionistic style which belongs to no conventional school. So itโ€™s no surprise that his work was met with the puzzlement if not rejection of his contemporaries, but they certainly gained newfound appreciation in the 20th century and since regarded as one of the Spanish master. El Greco painted several apostolates. Apostolate is a set of thirteen paintings, whose position was not predetermined, the exception being the picture of Christ the Saviour, which occupied the centre of the composition. Of all, three complete works have survived, and one of them was in this museum. It is also the one of greatest value and demonstrates like no other the artist's ability to paint individuals that are incredibly human and of exemplary character, full of dignity and nobility. ๐Ÿ’ฐAverage Price per Person: โ‚ฌ3 (free on Sunday)

#July Travel Support Fund **Toledo**, located in central Spain, is a city where various cultures and eras coexist, so much so that it is called โ€˜A Thousand Years of History in a Day.โ€™ It was the capital of Spain in the past, and is also a symbolic city of cultural fusion where Rome, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity flourished together. At the entrance to the city, the first thing that greets you is the arched stone bridge, the Alcantara Bridge, that crosses the Tagus River. After crossing the river and climbing the hill, you enter the medieval castle walls, and you are greeted by narrow, labyrinthine alleyways, red-roofed views, magnificent cathedrals, and Gothic architecture. Here are some of the most notable sights: โ€ขToledo Cathedral: The epitome of Spanish Gothic architecture, featuring El Greco's masterpieces โ€ขAlcazar: A fortress on a hill and now a military museum โ€ขPonte San Martin: A photogenic spot with a panoramic view of the western side of Toledo โ€ขEl Greco Museum: A space to experience El Greco's artistic world โ€ขPlaza de Zocodover: The central square where travelers and locals gather โ€ขJewish Quarter and Monastery of San Juan: A quiet area where history and religion meet Toledo is a day trip, but it is recommended to stay for a day to see the entire city turn red at sunset. A place where you can walk along the traces of the Middle Ages during the day and enjoy time slowly while looking at the city lit up under the walls at night. That is the charm of Toledo. #ToledoTravel #Toledo
