Takayama Inari Shrine

#JapanTravelTactics This is an Inari Shrine located in Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture, famous for its 1,000 vermilion torii gates. It is said to have been built between the Kamakura and Muromachi periods. The deities enshrined are Ukanomitama-no-Mikoto, Satahiko-no-Mikoto, and Omiyame-no-Mikoto. They are said to be the gods of bountiful harvests, safety at sea, and prosperous business. From the high ground behind the torii gates, you can get a panoramic view of the whole shrine, and the sight of the endless rows of torii gates, each about 2 meters high, is a spectacular sight.
