Experience nature and cows in Nagano Prefecture!!

This time, we will be looking at the Utsukushigahara Plateau. Utsukushigahara is located in the northernmost part of the Yatsugatake Chushin Kogen Quasi-National Park and boasts the widest plateau in Japan. The highest peak of Utsukushigahara, which is praised as one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan, is Ogato (2034m above sea level). You can enjoy walking trails and full-scale trekking courses while looking out at the scenery of idyllic grasslands and steep terrain. There is also an auto camping site in the surrounding area, which is especially recommended for those who enjoy staying on a trip. In addition, in 2012, the Utsukushigahara Plateau Long Trail was developed with a total length of about 45 kilometers, connecting the peaks of Matsumoto's Higashiyama mountains, Toya Mine, Takeishi Mine, Ogato, Chausuyama, Mitakeyama, and Hachibuseyama, from Kanayama Town in the Shika district to Gobushiji Temple, with the aim of promoting the health of citizens.
