Since 1876, this place has been visited by countless intellectuals and artists, and is still well-known as one of the best places to eat Sachertorte in Vienna. However, what makes this place special is **not just the cake, but the ‘atmosphere itself’**. 🏛️ A place full of history, space, and emotion Franz Kafka, Freud, Trotsky, and other leading figures of the era shared their thoughts while drinking coffee here. The fact that we are sitting in such a legendary space right now somehow feels like a scene from a movie. Gothic arched ceilings, marble columns, classic chandeliers, and most of all… 🎹 There is a gentleman who actually plays the piano. That day, too, an old man was quietly but very elegantly playing the piano. Classical melodies filled the space, and just sitting there made my mind calm and time seemed to pass slowly. The peace that the combination of music, cake, and old-fashioned space gave was so special that it was hard to express in words. ⏰ Is waiting a part of this place too? The line is almost always long. It is a place that is consistently loved by both tourists and locals, so there is always a line at the entrance. But don't worry— The turnover is fast and the inside is quite spacious, so you won't have to wait as long as you think. (But it's better to avoid peak times of 12-15 pm.) 🍰 What did we eat? We ordered two desserts: **Sachertorte** and Apple Pie (Apfelstrudel). • 🍫 Sachertorte A rich chocolate cake with a hint of apricot jam, Vienna's representative dessert. Café Central is famous for its Vienna Sachertorte, so I really wanted to try it. When I ate it with whipped cream, the bitterness and softness were in perfect harmony. • 🍎 Apple Pie (Apfelstrudel) This is my style. A thin, crispy pastry filled with apples, raisins, and a subtle cinnamon flavor. It was even better when it was served warm, and it wasn't too sweet, so I could enjoy it without feeling burdened.
