St. Stephen's Cathedral is the symbol of Vienna and also the very center of the city. At 136 meters in height, it is the tallest church in Austria. Stephen's Cathedral is its ornately patterned, richly coloured roof, 111 metres (364 ft) long, and covered by 230,000 glazed tiles. Above the choir on the south side of the building the tiles form a mosaic of the double-headed eagle that is symbolic of the empire ruled from Vienna by the Habsburg dynasty. Visitors can explore the Romanesque and Gothic cathedral interior, take a guided tour of the catacombs, or climb to the top of either the North or South Tower for a fantastic view of the city center The entrance fee for St stephens cathedral at Vienna is €5,50 (Rs 440) for adults and for children is €2 (Rs 160).
