Chasing Sakura at Wakasa Station

#cherryblossom25 Wakasa Railways is a local train line running between Koge Station and Wakasa Station. An important tourist attraction for the locals of Wakasa Town, the line offers a relaxing train journey through Tottori’s countryside. The interior of Wakasa Station, redesigned by Eiji Mitoka, maintains the appearance of the original wooden station building from the early Showa period. Those not boarding the train can also enjoy the station building as well as the SL locomotive and manual turntable mechanism still on the grounds, a glimpse of a past era blending in with the modern day. The station area is a must-visit during the cherry blossom season. The contrast between the SL locomotive and the surrounding soft, pink cherry blossoms in bloom makes for a perfect photo spot.
