A cafe where you can get advice on moving to and settling in the northernmost remote islands

Kutsugata, Rishiri Island I went to the Rishiri Town Settlement and Migration Support Center Tsuginova, an exchange space that opened in 2020 by reusing part of the old Kutsugata Junior High School building. The other day, I went to buy coffee beans that are rumored to be delicious, but this time I used the cafe. The cafe is a reused art room from the junior high school. Next to it is Otonova, a reused music room. This place holds music-related events on an irregular basis. In the future, they plan to reuse the gymnasium to create an indoor playground! This time, I had homemade red shiso juice (500 yen) made with red shiso grown on the island. The people I went with ordered almond au lait and coffee made with beans of their choice. The desks are reused from actual use. There were scratches that were likely made by students, but they had a lot of character and it was fun to look at the letters engraved on them. You can also play on the ping pong table that is provided. (Rackets and balls available for rental, free of charge) You can use the cafe for dining and takeout, but you can also use it as a coworking space and consult with the staff about settling down or relocating. The staff are people who have actually moved to Rishiri Island from other prefectures. They can provide advice about settling down or relocating based on their own experiences, so it's nice that it's easy to imagine and understand what kind of life awaits you. The coffee beans sold at the cafe and for takeout are sent to us by someone from outside the island. Apparently, that person's hobby is roasting coffee beans!! In front of the jar containing the beans, there is a chart showing the richness, acidity, and bitterness, making it easy to choose your favorite beans. They are considering selling herbal tea in addition to coffee in the future, so I would like to stop by again if I visit the island again.
