[China] An overwhelming scale! The most spectacular of all the spectacular sights: Wulingyuan's "Sky Gardens"

The Chinese World Heritage Site "Wulingyuan" became known all over the world after being the setting for the global hit movie "Avatar". Located in Hunan Province, China, Wulingyuan is a world of rock forests with more than 3,000 strange rock peaks, up to 300m high. The site area is about 5,700 Tokyo Domes and is mainly composed of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Nature Reserve, and Tianzishan Nature Reserve. Among Wulingyuan, there is a secret spot known only to those in the know: "Aerial Farmland". It is said that the Aerial Farmland was cultivated here more than 2,500 years ago by the Tujia ethnic minority to hide and escape war. They have continued to live here ever since, and are apparently the only indigenous people allowed to live here for such a long time, even though it is within a nature reserve. The Aerial Garden is a small rice field at the tip of the Qifeng Forest, and while it is quite ordinary in itself, the scenery around it is absolutely stunning! Just like the world of Avatar, it is surrounded by 300m-class strange peaks. From the sky garden, you can see the 100m elevator "Hundred Dragons Ladder" at the entrance to Wulingyuan. More than anything, the most impressive thing is the strange peaks that are so close you can almost reach out and touch them from the observation deck next to the rice fields. It is more overwhelmingly close than any other scenic area, and the sense of unreality is incredible. In the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, you can usually only travel within the park by special shuttle bus, or tour buses or vehicles authorized by guests staying in the park, so generally, to get to the sky garden, you will have to get off at the nearest bus stop and walk for about an hour. There may be unlicensed taxis parked along the road, so you can also use them. #tripoverseastravel #China #WorldHeritage #breathtakingview #strangerocks
