The Zhuhai Xiangshan State Guesthouse has debuted under the name "MGM Grand Mansion," with current calendar room rates nearing 3K, solidifying its position as the most expensive hotel in downtown Zhuhai (there's also an Alila on Dong'ao Island). Rumor has it the hotel's construction cost reached a staggering 2.3 billion, and the overall execution is impeccable. The public areas boast exceptional greenery and landscape design—unsurprising, given that the owner, Zhengfang Group, specializes in municipal landscaping. The architectural design was entrusted to He Jingtang, a national treasure-level academician, and it truly delivers—capturing the grandeur and elegance of a Lingnan-style mansion with a modern twist. For interiors, CCD took the reins, thankfully avoiding the overused floral themes and instead leveraging (perhaps overusing?) various Lingnan elements that perfectly suit the property. Thanks to the owner's generous investment, MGM's strong support, and the expertise of the design teams in architecture, landscaping, and interiors—all specialists in this style—the hotel exudes an aura of "flawless execution" and genuine luxury. Room categories include the main building and north/south villas. Personally, the south villa with lake views is the best, as it exclusively overlooks the scenic Xiangshan Lake. Even the base rooms are spacious at 70 sqm, hardly inferior to the standard villas.
