Daintree Rainforest – QLD
#summervacay
The Daintree felt like stepping into Jurassic Park—thick jungle, ancient trees, and birds calling from the canopy. I joined a guided walk through the Mossman Gorge and dipped into the crystal-clear river afterward—so refreshing in the summer heat. I also went on a river cruise where we spotted a crocodile sunbathing on the bank! The rainforest is so alive, and learning about its age and biodiversity made it even more special. It’s raw, lush, and unforgettable.
Daintree Rainforest – QLD
#summervacay
Walking through the Daintree felt like stepping into an ancient, untouched world. It’s the oldest rainforest on Earth, and it shows—lush, green, and alive with sounds. I cruised the Daintree River and spotted a saltwater crocodile, then took a guided walk through Mossman Gorge where I learned about Indigenous culture. The canopy tower walk gave me panoramic views, and I even saw a cassowary in the wild. It was humid and wild and absolutely incredible.
Daintree Rainforest
We hopped in the car and set off for a drive through the worlds oldest rainforest- Daintree Rainforest. The Discovery Centre was a great place to start as we got to learn all about the history, plants and animals. It also had great walkways to be able to view the rainforest from all different levels. As we continued to drive we stopped off at a few beautiful beaches, before continuing to walk through Daintree. We were lucky that there was no rain!#travel #naturalwonders

Daintree Rainforest
#australiatrip The Daintree Rainforest is the world’s oldest tropical rainforest, estimated to be over 135 million years old—predating even the Amazon! Its lush canopy, unique wildlife, and incredible biodiversity make it a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are no monkeys in the rainforest so it is very quiet.
We walked through several portions of the rainforest and explored a beach at Cape Tribulation area, where the rainforest meets the reef in a rare natural phenomenon. We looked out for the cassowary, a flightless bird with a blue neck and a reputation as a living dinosaur. Fun fact: the Daintree Rainforest is home to 90% of Australia’s butterfly species.
