2025 Dolomites Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in June)

I spent 8 days in the Dolomites and would like to share my experiences. 💙The Dolomites are a mountain range in northern Italy that is part of the Alps. It’s a budget-friendly destination to enjoy the Alps, offering a cheaper alternative to Switzerland. ♥️Based on my experience, the Dolomites can be divided into eastern and western regions. 💛Western Dolomites Most travelers use Ortisei as their base, but due to high accommodation costs, I stayed in Bolzano instead. Before my trip, I planned to visit Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, Santa Maddalena, Soprabolzano, and Lake Carezza. However, I ended up visiting Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, and Soprabolzano. ♥️Eastern Dolomites The main base city is Cortina d’Ampezzo, but I chose Dobbiaco due to its more affordable accommodation. My planned destinations included Cinque Torri, Tre Cime, Lake Misurina, Lake Braies (Lago di Braies), Lake Dobbiaco, and cycling across the Austrian border. Among these, I visited Tre Cime, Lake Braies, and cycled to Austria. 💕Accommodation Accommodation in the Dolomites is expensive, so I opted for youth hostels. Reservations can be made via email through their official websites. 💙Transportation Passes South Tyrol Pass This transportation card is available for 1, 3, or 7 days and allows unlimited use of regional buses and trains within the South Tyrol area (some exceptions apply, such as buses 439, 440, 442, and 444). Choose the pass that best fits your itinerary for a cost-effective trip. Super Summer Pass This pass provides unlimited access to cable cars and lifts in the Dolomites for a specified number of days. A row of peaks rise sharply and undulate like canine teeth, majestic and perilous. ⭕Missouri River Lake The Pearl of Dolomiti - the most beautiful lake, with water as clear as a mirror and a colorful surface that reflects a dreamlike and realistic image that is hard to distinguish. ⭕Hiking the Three Peaks Circuit Located in the northeastern part of Italy's Dolomite Mountains, three sharp peaks stand vertically and pierce the sky like knives and axes. The unique glacial karst landform is amazing. Only by hiking can one truly experience its breathtaking beauty. I don't like tight schedules when I go on tours or package tours, but this tour was great because it gave me a lot of free time and the explanations were kind. The snow was a little hard, so I lifted it up in a heart shape to take pictures, had a snowball fight, and had a really crazy day~

I climbed to the top of one of the Dolomites, which makes up 40% of the Alps, and fortunately, I didn't get any altitude sickness. They rent sled equipment and clothes on site, so you can just go. Of course, there's an additional cost. The guide took such good pictures that I left with good memories.

Dolomites 🇮🇹 Another Italian‘s jewel 💎 Basically, the Dolomites are nothing more that a magnificent natural amusement park. Declared UNESCO world heritage, you can probably hike, rock climbing, motorbike, ski (in winter of course), eat, drink, for weeks and weeks without even visit half of the mountain range in the northeast of Italy. I visited and hiked some of the best spots in my opinion (but there are soooo many more), the unbelievable #lagodibraies (Braies Lake) that looks like it belongs in a fairytale, the #trecimedilavaredo (Three Picks of Lavaredo?), #cinquetorri (Five Towers), and the splendid #seceda, where I had the best ever spot for an #aperolspritz. The #dolomites are wonderful, never ending and so pleasing to the eyes and the soul. Everyone should go and visit!
