All Trip Moments about Esslingen am Neckar
【Germany】Esslingen.
Esslingen is a stunningly beautiful town with preserved medieval architecture, located just about 15 minutes by train from Stuttgart. There are few places where you can see so many historic timber-framed houses. The town feels like it has leapt straight out of a storybook—it's truly charming.
Esslingen is particularly famous for its Christmas market. Thanks to the well-preserved medieval townscape, the market decorations and costumes are styled in a medieval fashion. This creates an atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time, which was truly delightful!
Stadtkirche St. Dionys
This church features two uniquely designed spires connected near their tops by a walkway—a distinctive architectural style you won't find elsewhere. The first church was built in the 8th century. During Esslingen's prosperous 13th century, the third reconstruction in Gothic style began, and the walkway connecting the spires was added in the 17th century to stabilize the towers.
Esslingen is such an adorable town that I would love to visit again during a warm and pleasant season.

A cozy German restaurant
#GetDiscountWithoutLuck
Restaurant Palmscher Bau is a traditional German restaurant located in the old town of Esslingen am Neckar. It has been around for a long time and is quite famous. The highlight of this restaurant, aside from the food, is the atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a very large preserved building, divided into several rooms. The interior of the building can accommodate up to 200 customers. In the summer, the restaurant opens outdoor seating in a beer garden style, making it even more lively. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in a traditional German style with carved wooden furniture and beautiful and lovely decorations. Every corner looks comfortable and inviting. I really like it.
The food is classic German food that goes well with the atmosphere. We ordered the following to try:
➡️ Schwabischer Zwiebelroschtbraten
Juicy, tender grilled steak served with eierspatzle egg pasta and sauerkraut pickles. This dish is the restaurant's signature dish that the staff recommended. Try it and I must say it's really delicious.
➡️ Allgauer Knuschperle
Short, plump pasta noodles that are soft and chewy, mixed with fragrant cheese sauce, topped with crispy fried chicken on the outside and soft on the inside. Served with lemon to cut the richness. Served with salad, it goes well together.
⏰ Opening and closing hours: Every day from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Sightseeing in Esslingen
I went to a town in Germany called Esslingen!
It's about a 20-minute train ride from Stuggart Central Station.
This is one of the cute towns in Germany that still retains its European streetscape.
The highlight is the area around Dejima, surrounded by the Rossnecker Canal.
While walking around, try visiting the old city hall, new city hall, Inner Bridge, etc. It takes about half a day to do all the sightseeing, but it's a town packed with things to see, so I recommend it.
If you have the budget, there are also tours that take you around the canals on a small boat.

A cozy cafe in the heart of Esslingen am Neckar.

Flo Backkultur & Caféglück is a cozy cafe located in the heart of the old town of Esslingen am Neckar. This is a small and lovely town with old churches and beautiful medieval castles. However, this shop is decorated in a contemporary style with a focus on black and white tones and light-colored wooden furniture. The shop is spacious, clean and comfortable. It is quite a nice place to sit. After walking around for a while, we decided to come in and recharge.
This place serves both savory food such as sandwiches and pastries. There are also many delicious cakes on display in the cabinet. The cakes here are in the traditional German style. The cakes are light, the cream is rich, the fruits are dense, the tart dough is semi-soft and the pieces are very large. We ordered a strawberry cake with grated chocolate on top. It was fragrant, mellow and sweet. The other piece was a cream tart topped with jelly mixed with sour berries. It was quite refreshing. The coffee was quite strong, which is perfect for dessert.

[Recommended Christmas market] Esslingen, a small town in Germany

Happy Merry x’mas!!
The day has come in a blink of an eye. Once Christmas is over, it feels like the end of the year all at once...
Today, we bring you the lunchtime Christmas market!
This is a small town called Esslingen in Germany. It's a 15-minute train ride from Stuttgart, which has one of the three biggest Christmas markets in Germany, so I recommend going there together.
This place is so cute! The town looks like a toy! In the last photo, there is a toy house, and it looks like a live-action version of that.
There is also a Christmas market that recreates the Middle Ages, and the atmosphere is different from the others, which was very interesting.
By the way, the Christmas market is actually open from 10:00 to 21:00.
It gets really crowded at night, but there are fewer people during the day, so I recommend going there during the day.

Esslingen is on my travel wish list.
This town is located in southwestern Germany on the banks of the Neckar River, near Stuttgart. It is the only ancient city in the Stuttgart area that has preserved its medieval city center intact to this day. It even has the oldest row of half-timbered houses in Germany. Every photo you take here has a sense of history. I can't wait to save up and visit it myself.
