Buildings from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties are scattered throughout the city, forming a unique ancient building complex nurtured in the soil of Jinshang culture. Located on the main road of Jin, it can still be so well preserved, which is inseparable from the local rulers of the past dynasties. They were clear-headed, had a strong cultural awareness, and knew that cultural relics are non-renewable, destroying them is a regret, and losing them is civilization. 🔅The words "Jinshang"🔅 are no longer empty words. When you come here, you can truly feel the glory of Jinshang in those years. Looking at the bustling crowd, although they are wearing various costumes but no longer the robes and mandarin jackets of that time, it seems like a journey back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Taigu Longquan Palace was built in 1355 AD, during the Yuan Dynasty. Surrounded by Phoenix Mountain, it has a history of 670 years. It is a famous Taoist architectural complex in Shanxi Province and has always been a place for people to relax. 🌈 Highlights: ✅ This is the main scenic spot of "Phoenix Mountain Spring Scenery," one of the ten scenic spots in Taigu. The ancient temple is quiet and beautiful, with few people. It is a good place to avoid the crowds during the May Day holiday. ✅ In front of the temple is a tall, exquisitely carved stone archway. The pavilions and towers of the entire temple are arranged layer by layer on the mountain. Ancient pines, cypresses, and ancient tree roots are interspersed among them. Moreover, the Longquan in the Water Mother Cave is continuous, clear as jade, and flows all year round. Drinking it is refreshing. The Fengshui Pagoda on the top of the mountain is majestic and towering into the clouds, magnificent and beautiful. ✅ Yuan Haowen, a great poet of the Yuan Dynasty, left several poems here. 1. Cultural History: The Kong Xiangxi Residence in Taigucheng has greater cultural significance than architectural value. Kong Xiangxi and his family barely lived there; it was mainly his father who resided there. What made it famous was Chiang Kai-shek's visit with Soong Mei-ling in the winter of 1934 to see Kong's father, an event documented in a film. That day, military and political officials from Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Jin-Sui regions gathered there. Chiang toured Kong's east garden and had a meal. The road conditions from Taiyuan to Taigucheng were poor then, showing Chiang's sincerity. Even today, the roads are not good, and the hutongs in Taigucheng's old town, especially around Kong's residence, are very narrow. It's unclear where all those cars parked back then. During the war against Japan, the Kong residence was requisitioned by Japanese forces. After victory, it was borrowed by the Jin-Sui Army and converted into a hospital and military station. Comrade Deng Xiaoping visited the residence in August 1948, by which time the Kong family had already left. At that time, Deng Xiaoping served as the First Secretary of the CPC Central Committee's Central Plains Bureau and Political Commissar of the Central Plains Military Region and Field Army. This is part of the charm of historical residences. Reflecting on history, who could have imagined that the famous residence of Minister Kong from the Republic era would become a tourist attraction decades later? The best time to visit is early in the morning (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM), when the soft morning light enhances the beauty of the flowers, and the streets are peaceful ✨ 📍Yuci District, Jinzhong, Shanxi, China We then visited Chang Family Manor, a grand Qing Dynasty residence known for its impressive courtyards and gardens. During spring, cherry blossoms 🌸 bloom in the garden areas, providing a stunning contrast to the ancient buildings. We explored the stone pathways and found a secluded pavilion where petals gently fell into the pond, creating a perfect photo opportunity 🙌 The best time to visit is between 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM, when the light is soft and ideal for photography 📸 📍Jinzhong City, Shanxi, China We also made our way to Mian Mountain ⛰️ a breathtaking mountain range where cherry blossoms bloom along the hiking trails and temple grounds.
