Mikan and Kaki picking in Japan
Autumn is a great time for picking mikan (mandarin oranges) and kaki (persimmons) in Japan’s Kansai region.
The Katsuragi area is famous for growing kaki and mikan as well. This area is located around the mountain of the same name, Mount Katsuragi, which is partly located in both the Wakayama and Nara Prefectures.
This fruit picking activity is available for a fee from late October to December. Reservations are a must!
You can eat as many kaki and mikan as you can stomach while picking the fruits, and can also pack some back. Meanwhile, you can also enjoy the crisp fresh air out in the mountainous areas!

Ichinomiya in Kii Province, which is registered as a World Heritage Site
#aprilblooms
It is said that it has a history of about 1700 years, and it is an ancient shrine that is registered as a World Heritage Site as one of the constituent heritages of the "Sacred Sites and Shrines of the Kii Mountains" that combine Mt. Koya, Kumano, Yoshino, etc. It is the first shrine in Kii Province, and there are about 180 main shrines of Nyu Tsuhime Shrine throughout the country. It enshrines Nyu Tsuhime Omikami, who gave Kobo Daishi a divine territory to build Kongobu-ji Temple, and is said to be the general guard of Mt. Koya.
The main hall, which is designated as an important cultural property of the country, has four Kasuga-zukuri shrines in a horizontal row, and four gods, including Nyu Tsuhime Omikami, are enshrined. Restoration work was carried out in 2014, and the same colour scheme as in the early Edo period was applied. In addition, the tower gate in front of the main hall is also an important cultural property designated by the country.
One of the World Heritage Sites
Nyutsuhime Shrine in Wakayama Prefecture is actually a World Heritage Site, but it's also a hidden gem and a shrine where you can get a lot of power.
[Wakayama] The cave is heaven and hell for dinosaurs!
At Obara Cave in Katsuragi-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, you can experience dinosaurs and Gokuraku-do together.
A giant dinosaur greets you from the entrance 😊
There are helmets at the entrance of the cave, which you can borrow for free. Even in summer, the inside of the cave is cool at about 12℃.
It's as large as a maze, but thanks to the stamp rally, you can see it all.
Inside the cave is Gokuraku-do, and the atmosphere changes completely with an exhibition about heaven and hell.
There was also an exhibition of stones that glow when you shine a black light on them.
There are various mechanisms, so both adults and children can enjoy it, so please go and check it out!

The world
The world heritage of Takaha Nibu Shrine is in Katsuragi of Wakayama. It has an old ginkgo tree. Yellow leaves look very enchanting. It is 25m in height and has grown over 300 year. Seen from afar, it becomes a golden world. In early December, there would be a "ginkgo tree concert" at 10:00 in the morning.
