Iruka Onsen, Seiryuso, Valley Hot Spring
#春夏好去地方2024
#三江县 #熊野 #瀞流溪 #温泉
Located in the Kumano Mountains of Mie Prefecture, Iruka Onsen is located in the semi-deep mountains. There are no commercial areas around it. It is very quiet and comfortable at night, and there is no light pollution.
The rooms have been renovated. They don't have bathrooms, so you have to go to the large public bath to take a bath or soak in hot springs. The hot springs here face the valley, and the scenery during the day is also very charming.
Dinner and breakfast are also available, and the price-performance ratio is very reasonable, only about 3,000 to 5,000 per night. In addition, staying here is very close to the Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine where we were visiting.

The shrine is also adjacent to Japan's longest beach and enshrines a huge rock. The 45-meter-high boulder is said to have been there for at least a thousand years. It is also one of the oldest shrines in Japan. Visitors worship in front of the boulder and make wishes by touching it with their hands.

Located in the Kumano Mountain area of Mie Prefecture, it is a very distinctive scenic spot and a beautiful spot for enjoying the sunset. At first, I thought it was unpopular and didn’t make any special arrangements. Later, I came when time allowed. It was completely unexpectedly beautiful.
Maruyama Senmaida was built piece by piece since 1601. In its heyday, there were a total of 2,240 pieces of various sizes. Later, more than 500 pieces were reduced, but it was still very spectacular.
This area is not easy to get to. It is recommended to drive by yourself. The road is small, so you need to pay a little attention to the arrangement. When you arrive, many local photography enthusiasts are already booking a spot.

[Mie/Kumano] A spectacular view that cliff lovers will definitely want to visit
#Travelwithme
In Mie Prefecture
Onigajo-
It reminded me of things like "ria coast" and "Tuesday Su○pence"
Even though it's part of the World Heritage Site, those are the only impressions I can think of... (lol)
The complex topography was formed by multiple factors, including the erosion of the rough waves of the Kumano Sea and uplift from earthquakes
It seems that a cloudless night is a great spot for stargazing
Next time I'd like to go on a cloudless, moonless night☆⋆꙳
(Actually, when I went once, it was cloudy and I couldn't see anything at all, it was pitch black and it was really scary!)
If you visit the Kumano Sanzan shrines, please go a little further and visit
It's worth a visit! It is

[Mie] A resort following the Kumano Kodo trail! World Heritage Resort Kumano Club
The World Heritage Site of Kumano Kodo.
The World Heritage Site Resort Kumano Club is located on the road from Ise to Kumano, and is a resort for adults nestled in the nature of Kumano.
I stayed in a detached room called Shingetsu no Iori.
The room had an indoor bath and a semi-open-air bath, so it was fun to relax in the room♨️
The amenities were from L'Occitane, which was exciting♥️
All rooms at Kumano Club are suites, so every room is luxurious and looks good for anniversaries✨
The theme was all-inclusive gourmet food, so we enjoyed not only dinner and breakfast using local ingredients, but also afternoon tea, the lounge, and even milk after a bath♥️
And everything was so delicious that I had to hold back a little, but my rationality was nowhere to be found🐷
My husband, who loves alcohol, heard that alcohol was included in the service and drank a lot of local Mie sake for the first time in a while, looking happy🐨

Toro Gorge Boat Ride [Kumano River Boat Center]
This is the place I recommend this time✨
The information center and reservation facility for the Toro Gorge Boat Ride is the Kumano River Boat Center✨
Address: 54-8, Tanaga, Kumanogawacho, Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture, 647-1211
This is a facility where you can make reservations for activities on the Kumano River. They have a large selection of Kumano Kodo guides and event brochures, and they also seem to take reservations for those here, so it's convenient and recommended✨
They also offer group discounts, so it might be a good idea to stop by when you come to the Kumano River✨

👹 Strolling in the "Oniga Castle" in Mie Prefecture
In Japan, people eat a lot, so it is necessary to balance it out with some healthy activities. This time, we will introduce "Origami Castle" in Mie Prefecture.
📍 1835-7 Kimoto-cho, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture
🚈 Take the Mie Kotsu bus from Kumanoshi Station on the Kisei Main Line (JR Central) to Omata-Okubo and get off at "Oiga Castle East Exit". The bus takes about 5 minutes
🚙 If you drive, you can arrive along National Highway 42
The so-called "Oniga Castle" is actually a wonder of countless large and small sea caves and tuff uplifted by multiple earthquakes. It has been designated as a national natural monument and one of the 100 Scenic Spots of Japan. When you see for yourself the numerous sea caves of various sizes arranged in a stepped pattern along the coastline, forming a rugged natural landscape, and enjoy the rare scenery, the sound of the waves, the sea breeze, and the lights of Kumano, you will feel even more the magnificence of "Oniga Castle" and the wonders of nature. Moreover, walking more often in such a natural environment can make people healthier.
Oniga Castle is located on the Ise Road from Ise to Kumano Sanzan. The area is part of the former Kumano Kodo. The area along the Shichiri Beach is about 25 kilometers long. If you don’t have time to walk the entire 25 kilometers, you can walk around the 1-kilometer hiking trail. It takes about 40 minutes, including taking photos. However, please note that the hiking trail is quite rugged and some roads are very narrow, so you must be extra careful when visiting.
After visiting the Oniga Castle, you can also have a cup of tea, buy souvenirs and take a rest at the Kumano City Oniga Castle Center Complex at the entrance.

I found it here‼️【Kaachan's Store】⭐
This is what I recommend this time✨
Mother's shop at the roadside station [Kumanogawa Product Sales]✨
Address: 54-7, Kumanogawachodanaga, Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture, 647-1201
This shop, marked by a mother's sign, processes and sells vegetables and fruits from the Kumano River, and I recommend the Mehari Sushi, which sells out quickly✨
In the summer, refreshing products made with yuzu are lined up in rows, and you can also eat ice cream inside the store, making it the perfect summer getaway✨

This is what we recommend this time✨
[Souvenir shop at Hotel Seiryusou in Iruka Onsen]

The lineup here includes souvenirs related to the Kumano Navy and the Kumano Kodo, as well as the famous Yatagarasu sweets and T-shirts✨
As it is located between the borders of three prefectures, it also sells specialties from Nara, Wakayama, and Mie✨
The Wakayama mandarin sweets were delicious, so I recommend them✨

Atmosphere/Facilities: View of Toro Gorge from the natural open-air bath✨

[Mie Prefecture] A thrilling scenic spot: Onigajo Castle
\\Tourist Spots//
The World Heritage Site Onigajo Castle has been selected as one of Japan's 100 most scenic spots.
You can walk on the rocks carved by the rough waves of the Kumano Sea. There are fences, but it's still quite thrilling! And since it's a rocky area, it's recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
It was a wonderful place!

Following on from last time, the photos are from inside the room! If you haven't seen it yet, I think you'll get a better idea of how good the room is if you take a look at the previous post as well!!!

2nd photo → Open-air bath in the room and a wooden bench

6th photo → Samue and bath basket🧺
7th photo → Free drinks in the fridge🍺

Guests staying at the hotel can take part in a free tour of the Kumano Kodo trail.
#KumanoKodo
#MatsumotoPass⛰
~Participate in Kumano Club's free tour~
If you stay at Kumano Club, you can participate in the Kumano Kodo tour for free😇
*There are periods when this is not available, so we recommend checking the official website before staying!!!
We walked for 2 hours and 30 minutes from 9:30 to 12:00 while listening to the tour guide's explanations👣
As long as you are wearing sneakers and are comfortable to move around in, you should be fine!!!
The altitude is low, but there is a lot of uphill climbing, so a towel and a drink are essential!! 👀
There were stone-paved stairs, but there was moss growing and there were only trees around, so I felt like Princess Mononoke the whole time!!!
The last photo was taken from the place with the best view, and it was very beautiful🌊
*This was the best photo spot during the tour!!!

From 20:00 to 22:00, you can drink as much alcohol as you want🍶 and eat as much snacks as you want🥢 in the lounge!!!
There is a wide variety of alcohol, including beer, wine🍷, sake, whiskey, and shochu.
You can also drink non-alcoholic drinks such as ginger ale!
For snacks, we had dried fish, persimmon pie, chocolate, and mackerel sushi, and it was fun to grill the dried fish on the spot🐟
During the smell of dried fish?
I was surprised to see a cat🐈 in the lounge!!!
(The 10th photo is a cat🐱 that was there before I knew it)

[Thrilling] Hidden recommended spots
A scenic coastal spot in Kumano City, Mie Prefecture.
It's a very large-scale place where you can enjoy the sea.
Located at the southern end of the ria coast, it is dotted with large and small sea caves carved by the rough waves of the Kumano Sea.
The entrance to the wave-eroded cave is sharp, and the ceiling has a beehive-shaped wind erosion.
The Senjojiki cave at the east entrance is a large cave with two levels, and is the best sight of Onigajo Castle! It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When you visit, be careful of your step as there are some slippery places.

There are many small paddy fields in the Maruyama area of Kumano City(Mie Prefecture) and it is called a thousand plate fields.
The landscape is wonderful, and it is said to be the best landscape of terraced paddy fields in Japan.

[Encounter the "magnificent view of prayer" at Akoshi Shrine, a mysterious torii gate leading to the sea]
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
Akoshi Shrine, located in Homo-cho, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture, is a mysterious shrine with an impressive torii gate that seems to float on the sea.
It has a history of being visited by boat, and the torii gate that continues to the sea, which still gives a sense of this, is a truly spectacular sight✨
On the day I visited, the torii gate quietly stood between the blue sea and sky, and the fantastic space where only the sound of the waves echoed was cleansing to the soul.
The journey to the shrine, which is a walk along the promenade, is also like a "journey of prayer."
Being able to encounter this sacred scenery for free is truly a "reward for the soul" 🌿

You can also enjoy marine activities such as SUP and sea kayaking, making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts 🏄♀️
It wasn't crowded, so I was able to spend a luxurious time quietly facing nature.

[It's also in Japan! Experience the mysterious sea at Mie's "Blue Cave"]
#AbsolutelyFreeTrip
The Blue Cave (Gama no Kuchi) in Kumano City, Mie Prefecture, is a particularly fantastic spot on the Tategasaki sightseeing tour course, which is lined with strange rocks on the ria coast. ✨
The sunlight that shines into the cave reflects off the seabed, making the surface of the sea shine in cobalt blue and emerald green, just like the Japanese version of Capri. 🌈
The day I visited was a sunny day, and I was taken aback by the blue color of the cave as seen from the sightseeing boat.
The space created by the sound of the waves and the flickering light makes you feel like you've wandered into another world.
What's more, the feeling of being in a hidden place that can only be reached by sightseeing boat is irresistible! Among the "absolutely free trips", this is a spot where you can have a special experience✨

The oldest shrine in Japan that enshrines Inisatsuson
#postandearn
"Hana Grotto Shrine" also appears in the "Nihonshoki", which is said to be the oldest history book in Japan, and is said to be the oldest shrine in Japan. It is said that the name was given as "Iwaya that enshrined flowers" because the mother of domestically produced gods and Kagutsuchinomikoto of the god of fire were enshrined, and the gods were enshrined with seasonal flowers. It is the original shrine of Kumano Sanzan and is also registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site as one of the "sacred places and pilgrimage roads in the Kii Mountains".
Since ancient times, there has been no shrine, and it is characterised by a giant rock about 45 metres high facing Kumano Nada as a divine body. It is a rare shrine in the country where worshippers can directly touch the divine body, which retains the appearance of nature worship from time immemorial.

🌸Kumano Cherry🌸
#0yentrip
Kumanozakura🌸
A native species of Japan that can be seen in the areas around Kumano City, Mie Prefecture, Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, and Totsukawa Village, Nara Prefecture.
In 2018, the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute announced that it is a new species of cherry blossom.
Every year, Mie Prefecture holds a day trip bus trip with a small number of applicants, and I was lucky enough to be able to see it.
I went to see a lecture by Toshio Katsugi, a researcher who is an authority on cherry blossoms, and saw several cherry blossoms in the area.
The flowering period is determined two months before the bus tour date, and this time it was only partially in bloom.
The flowering period in 2025 is
late March to early April.
The traditional best time to see it is February to March.
The Kumanozakura are preserved, and during the cherry blossom viewing season, they are cared for and flags are hung where the Kumanozakura are for public awareness activities, making them easy to find.
It blooms earlier than Yamazakura and blooms in just a few days, so you won't be able to see it in full bloom unless you go on time🌸
It's probably a good idea to check with the local government office, etc.
The native species of Kumanozakura is rare in Japan, and if it crosses with Somei-Yoshino, it will no longer be a native species, so why not go and see it at least once🌸✨
Even the scattered native species of Kumanozakura are said to have different shapes and colors, so it would be fun to compare them one by one instead of staying in one place☺️
