Scottish Excursion Day1：Travel to Carlisle on the coastal train. Fabulous views along the route to Carlisle. We were going to take our ebikes but realised we hadn't reserved our bikes on some of the trains. Second leg of the journey Carlisle to Glasgow and overnight stay in Holiday Inn Express. Great meal at Thai Orchid, Glasgow. Day2: Train to Fort William from Queen St Station, Glasgow. We managed to get window seats for the journey, and oh my, the views were spectacular 😊 Day3: A stroll into Fort William and a cruise to see the seals. We also had the pleasure of seeing the Jacobite steam train (Hogwort Express) whilst on the cruise. Day4: A trip into Mallaig on the train over the famous Glenfinnan viaduct. 🏨 Accommodation We had a wonderful stay at Hillview guest house, highly recommended. 🍴 Food Recommendations: Fishy Fishy, Fort William 📌 Tips

🍝 The seafood in Mallaig is exceptionally fresh. After tasting the seafood in Oban and Fort William, I found Mallaig's to be even better. Every restaurant in Mallaig has a traditional thick soup called Cullen Skink (picture 8️⃣⬇️), which is made with smoked haddock, potatoes, onions, vegetables, and cream. It's very delicious and filling, especially when paired with bread and butter for dinner 😝. 🍮 There are many restaurants near the train station, and I particularly recommend The Cabin for its exquisite and tasty dishes. Picture 8️⃣ shows the creamy crab soup and warm smoked salmon salad, which are rare delicacies in Scotland.
