Nam Kok Phrom Lok ⛰️
Phrom Lok Waterfall is part of Khao Luang National Park, located in Phrom Lok Subdistrict. Phrom Lok Waterfall is considered one of the largest waterfalls with a wide and beautiful stone terrace in the South. The source of the water comes from the Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range, flowing down on 3 Nan (layers) of rocks, flowing through various trees along the foot of the mountain, creating moisture for the landscape in that area, then flowing into Khlong Tha Pha and into the Gulf of Thailand at Pak Phun Subdistrict. To get there, take the Nakhon Si Thammarat-Phrom Khiri route. At kilometer 20, there is a left turn onto Highway 4132 for about 5 kilometers to reach the waterfall.

Khao Khun Phanom, Phrom Khiri, Nakhon Si Thammarat
It is a small limestone mountain with dense trees covering it. It is believed that it was once the residence of King Taksin the Great who came to stay and ordain as a monk and practice Vipassana meditation. The entrance to the cave is on the east side. The entrance has two seven-headed stucco nagas spreading their hoods like a staircase. There are 245 levels in total. The middle of the nagas' bodies is carved into a Buddha image, sitting cross-legged, with eyes closed, in a circle surrounded by dewdrops and flower petals. Inside Khao Khun Phanom, there are many limestone caves with stalactites and stalagmites. Interesting ones include Tham Haew Tak Fa, Tham Phitsadan, Tham Nang Chi, Tham Phra, and Tham Lod.

Come experience nature at “Phromlok Waterfall”
First of all, I have to say that I went there in June^^
“Phrom Lok Waterfall” is another place that anyone visiting Nakhon Si Thammarat must not miss because you will be able to immerse yourself in nature and the atmosphere is extremely refreshing.
Wherever you look, there are many kinds of trees everywhere. It is shady, the water is very cold, and there is Wang Pla Ngae, which is a pool with many Pla Ngae fish. They will play with us if we put our feet in. I have to say that it feels so good with the cold water and the fish biting. I don't know how to explain it^^ And next to this pool, there is a waterfall that flows down together. You can play in the water and the fish will play with you. It's another kind of fun. When we went, it wasn't hot at all, maybe because there were a lot of trees and there weren't many people. It felt very peaceful. Another thing is that there are shower rooms here. If you're done playing in the waterfall, you can shower and change clothes before continuing your journey. The bathroom is clean and there is a maid who cleans the entire time. I was very impressed. I want you to go and experience it for yourself. 🌿🌳🌱🍀🍃

Khao Luang Nakhon - Wind and Rain Ridge - Sky Cliff 1,600 m
Let me start by saying this trip was full of mishaps—camera fell into water, backpack strap broke, and leeches were everywhere. But despite all that, it was an incredibly happy and fulfilling experience. We drove ourselves for this trip.
Day 1: We began our journey at Ai Khiao Waterfall at 10 AM. The trail was about 3.5 km long with an elevation of 570 meters, carrying a 16 kg backpack. The path was moderately steep, and the staff had to clear the trail for us since we were the first group to hike after a storm. Fallen trees blocked the way, and the trail got steeper as we went, with leeches and large black ants that were quite aggressive. We reached the camp around 4:30 PM and rested as we pleased.
Day 2: From the first camp to Sky Cliff and Wind and Rain Ridge, the trail was about 4 km long with an elevation gain of 800 meters. This was the day of steep and very steep paths. We stopped for lunch at a waterfall, enjoying simple yet delicious dishes like omelets and sun-dried pork.
The camp at Wind and Rain Ridge didn’t have water nearby, so we had to hike down to fetch water. I don’t remember the exact distance, but the path to the water source was quite challenging and steep. The weather was cold as well.
Day 3: Last night was windy and rainy, and I was worried about water seeping through the tarp. I didn’t want to get wet, and my 16 kg backpack was already unbearable. We started hiking at 10 AM, passing through bamboo forests where we had to crawl and duck under branches. Every step forward felt like three steps back because the trail was steep and slippery. Bamboo stalks hung overhead, snagging my backpack—it was a struggle, but also funny in hindsight.
The camp tonight was comfortable, though I can’t recall its name. There was water for bathing, and after a tiring hike, a cold bath felt absolutely refreshing.
Day 4: "Climb like a swan, descend like a snail." The trail out of the forest was 4.5 km long, followed by another 4 km walk through a garden to Wang Lung Waterfall. Most of the path was downhill, crossing streams and rocks. We had lunch by the waterfall, and I loved this trip so much—having water to bathe in made it all the more refreshing.
That’s the end of the review.
Phrom Lok Waterfall
📍Address: Phrom Khiri District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province
💰Average cost per person: 20 THB
🗓️Travel planning: Open daily. During the summer, it's an ideal time to visit. However, during the rainy season, it's advisable to check beforehand as there might be flash floods.
How to get there - For those in Bangkok, you can fly to Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport and then rent a car. The drive from the airport takes about 40 minutes to reach the waterfall.
As for us, we chose to drive from Phuket, which took about 6 hours. Since we had some personal errands in our hometown, we used the holiday to visit Phrom Lok Waterfall, which is only about 15 minutes from home. It brought back childhood memories. 💞
Why we recommend it: For waterfall enthusiasts, this is a must-visit spot. There are natural trails to explore, and you can get more information from the park staff.

Around the building, there are tens of thousands of small mirrors.
It has become a wall that reflects the comfortable greenness of the surrounding rubber trees.
The interior is decorated with clear glass and white furniture with a little red.
It gives a different feeling. This is the most outstanding point here.
The menu in the shop has both drinks, desserts and food to order.
You can choose to sit in the cool air-conditioned room or outside, surrounded by nature.

Phrom Lok Waterfall, Khao Luang National Park
Review of Phrom Lok Waterfall, Khao Luang National Park, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province
Phrom Lok Waterfall is located within Khao Luang National Park in Phrom Khiri District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It is one of the most significant natural attractions in southern Thailand, known for its cascading streams flowing over large rocks amidst lush green forests. The atmosphere is serene, cool, and peaceful, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and nature exploration.
This waterfall boasts a total of 50 tiers, but only four main tiers are open to visitors: Nan Wang Nam Won, Nan Wang Mai Pak, Nan Wang Hua Bua, and Nan Wang Ai Lae. Each tier has its unique features, including natural pools suitable for swimming, crystal-clear water, and pristine surroundings. Additionally, there is a 600-meter nature trail where visitors can closely observe the flora and ecosystem of the dense forest.
Phrom Lok Waterfall also holds historical significance. In 1959, King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit visited this site and inscribed their royal initials "Phor Por Ror" and "Sor Kor" on the cliff of the first tier of the waterfall, making it a place of great importance and value.

Riverside cafe with mountain views, the beauty of Nakhon Si Thammarat
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐥𝐨𝐤 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐟𝐞 Phrom Lok Campsite
If you come to visit Phrom Khiri, Nakhon Si Thammarat, let me tell you that you must not miss this place. This place is both a camping ground and a super chill riverside cafe. The best thing about this place is that you can order drinks and bring your camping chair to sit and sip anywhere. Or you can come and sit and chill in the middle of the water because the stream here is not deep and the water is very clear. There is also a mountain view to enjoy. If you come to sit and relax in the evening, you will get the feeling. But we would like to recommend that you come down with only your body and chair. Do not bring your drinks down. Because the drinks may spill and the glasses may become trash. Sitting in the middle of the water and soaking in the water also gives you beautiful pictures. Sit and relax until you are satisfied and then go back to the bank to sip water.
