1) A’dam Lookout is a spectacular tower holding the highest swing in Europe. This is a very affordable and extremely worthwhile experience, to feel like you are flying with your friend or partner beside you! The views from the tower alone are worthwhile if you don’t fancy braving the swing. Also, if you’re a group of three, one of you will get to go twice! As A’dam is over on the Northern side of the city, not everyone realises that access is very simple. There’s a regular free ferry that crosses the canal, accessible around the back of central station. While you’re there, it’s also worth checking out the EYE film museum right next door! 2) Muiderslot castle. Muiderslot is easily missed by visitors to the city as it lies on the outskirts in Muiden, and is waterlocked, but it this historical treasure is well worth a visit. Built in 1370 by the Duke of Bavaria, it is one of the best preserved medieval castles I’ve ever seen. Although it is technically accessible by road, the easiest (and most fun) way to get there is taking the bus to Ijberg then boarding the Amsterdam Tourist Ferry's jetty. Travel there and back included, you’ll have a 4 hour trip to explore this beautiful castle and listen to the audio tour recounting its fascinating history. You can also explore the vast gardens and grounds. 3) Hortus botanicus is often missed in favour of the Amsterdam zoo, but it is actually one of the worlds OLDEST botanical gardens. It has several different ‘biomes’ in its greenhouses, including a rainforest room, while the outdoor gardens are a beautiful place to spend an hour and relax among the rare plants and art installations, or wander into its hidden-gem butterfly house to see all the little critters feeding on fresh fruit and fluttering around you! #100waysoftravel #historicallandmarks #amsterdam #Netherlands

1️⃣Intersection of Keizersgracht and Leidsegracht canals If you want to take the most classic photo of the canal, the intersection of Keizersgracht and Leidsegracht is the best choice. 2️⃣Korte Niezel Bridge The St. Nicholas Church, the canal houses around it, the arched bridge with bicycles parked on it, and the occasional passing boat form a quite harmonious picture. 3️⃣Amuqiao Seven Bridges (7 Bridges) As a city of canals, there are countless bridges. The intersection of Reguliersgracht and Herengracht canals is the most magical place in the city, where you can see seven consecutive bridge arches at once. 4️⃣A'DAM Lookout Observation Deck Standing on the top of a 20-story tower, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Amsterdam from a god's-eye view. There is also the highest swing in Europe on the observation deck (if you dare, be sure to check in), and you can easily take super cool photos of yourself suspended above the panoramic view of Amsterdam. 5️⃣SkyLounge Amsterdam A bar 11 floors high that offers a bird's-eye view of the entire city without requiring an admission ticket. (During the peak of summer, sipping on a colorful cocktail while enjoying the beautiful scenery is simply amazing.) 6️⃣NEMO Science Museum Apart from the panoramic view of the city, you can capture various beautiful and creative photos of the staircase rooftop with its own fountain, the peacefully docked boats, and the uniquely shaped iron bridge. 7️⃣I Amsterdam logo Every day, a constant stream of tourists stop here to take photos. If you want to take a pure "I Amsterdam" photo and have the opportunity to take a photo with this landmark alone, it is recommended to come and check in at night or in the early morning. 8️⃣Coin Square (Muntplein) The coin square full of ancient atmosphere is a great place to take retro photos. From the top floor of the Geelvinck parking lot nearby, you can overlook the entire square and capture every exquisite building in sight. 9️⃣Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam (Amsterdam Botanical Garden) This is a paradise for literary and fresh Instagrammers, where you can easily capture the taste of fashion bloggers. The pink walls in the botanical garden can withstand high aesthetic standards whether you're taking photos of people or scenery. 🔟Damrak Avenue The canal houses along the Damrak waterfront are a must-see scenery in many postcards. After weeks of working across Europe, I finally found comfort in Amsterdam’s incredible Asian food scene. 🥢 From steaming bowls of Vietnamese pho to spicy Thai curries and authentic Chinese dumplings, every bite felt like a warm hug. 🍜 I also found a super delicious yet affordable Italian food for takeaway, it’s really one of the best meals I have had for the trip! But Amsterdam is so much more than its food. Mornings here are magical—peaceful walks along cobblestone streets, the symphony of bicycles, and that *distinctly Amsterdam* scent in the air. 🚲 I took the free ferry to Adam Lookout for breathtaking skyline views and even ventured into the Red Light District—an experience that’s as bold and unforgettable as the city itself. 👀 Amsterdam is a city of contrasts: chaotic train platforms and serene canals, traditional Dutch charm and international flair. But the real adrenaline rush came from the Over the Edge swing—the highest swing in Europe. As I was securely strapped in, anticipation built, and before I knew it, I was swinging out over the edge of the tower, 100 meters above the ground. The rush of wind, the sweeping views, and the sheer exhilaration of floating over the city created a moment of pure thrill. The combination of excitement and awe-inspiring scenery made it an unforgettable experience. After the swing, I took my time enjoying the Lookout’s interactive exhibits, which provided fascinating insights into Amsterdam’s history and future developments. The rooftop bar was the perfect spot to unwind, sipping a drink while taking in the stunning views. Visiting A’DAM Lookout was more than just sightseeing—it was an adventure that combined spectacular scenery with heart-pounding excitement, making it a highlight of my time in Amsterdam.
