#wheretogo We patronized the newly renovated Ichiban Boshi at Alexandra Retail Centre. They featured new items in the menu such as Miyazaki A5 Wagyu Aburi Sushi, Abi Sabe Maze Udon, Roast beef platter and more. Ichiban Boshi is an ideal place to enjoy quality Japanese cuisine for business meetings & social gatherings. The newly restaurant has a modern and stylish interior, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff at Ichiban Boshi are friendly and attentive, The service is fast and efficient, and the food is always served hot and fresh. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. We ordered the Gindari Teriyaki rice set, Tokusen Gyu Saikoro rice set, Asari Butter Yaki rice set, Buta & Ebi Mentaiko Udon and Inari roll. The food is of high quality and the service is excellent. Whether you are looking for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, Ichiban Boshi is the perfect place to go.

#citywalk My colleagues and I was out at Labrador and we went to Alexandra Retail Centre for a quick water break from the heat. There weren’t many cafes so we chose The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, which had seatings inside their stores and outside but both in air conditons environment. The outlet sells their usual drinks, confectionery and merchandise. What I like is they displayed their merchandise outside so it’s easier to window shop. And we ordered the chai latte, matcha latte and watermelon lychee tea. The cafe is also really clean and brightly lighted for you and your companions to chill

#sgfoodies Killiney Cafe is actually quite a good place to go to for affordable local food. They have pretty affordable and delicious set lunches daily! The menu consists of local favourites like mee goreng, laksa, nasi lemak, horfun, etc. For local breakfast, they have the signature Kaya Butter Toast Set which includes tea/coffee, 2 soft boiled eggs & toasted kaya butter bread. #sgfoodies Old Chang Kee is known as the grab and go place in Singapore. However there are some old change Kee coffee house that serves decent quick meals too. The one I patronized was the one at Alexandra Retail Centre. They served fried bee hoon, dry Mee siam and Nasi Lemak as their mains. Then you can add on the fried foodstuff as your sides and the signature Curry’O for dessert. Old Chang Kee also offers other delectable hot snacks and lip-smacking quick bites. There is a small seating area with a few tables. I ordered the dry Mee siam set with fried chicken wings and fishball and iced teh for $7.50 which is quite affordable. The Mee Siam taste quite good.

Whiskdom is a dessert shop opened at Alexandra Central Mall. Having seen photos of their sweet treats, I decided to get an Assorted Six (Classic) bake box to try! There were 3 cookie flavours included: Chunky Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Overloaded and Berries & Crème. These were slightly crispy on the outside and soft and gloopy on the inside – so good but I don’t know want to know how much oil and butter goes into them. Out of the three, I’d recommend the Dark Chocolate Overloaded cookie as the bitterness of the dark chocolate helps cut through some of the sweetness, making it the perfect flavour balance. Now, onto the brownies! The 3 flavours were Salted Dark Chocolate, Speculoos Delight and Matcha Cocoa. These were amazingly soft and moist, with thick and smooth centre fillings. Yum! Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the Speculoos Delight brownie. I usually don’t opt for speculoos-flavoured desserts as they tend to be overly sweet, but this one was quite well-balanced. My husband liked the Matcha Cocoa brownie as it had the legit taste of fragrant matcha coming through. #sgfoodies Decided to try this new chirashi place that opened up in ARC and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Unagi Don and Salmon Don and the entire bowl was still super satisfying. Service was exceptional as well, and we were given a chawanmushi on the house! There is limited seating so expect to wait in line. Overall, it was a good meal, cost about $15-20 for the Donburi, can come again on special occasion.

#wheretogo ColourFul day Cafe serves Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rice and Western Food. The ambience is very Colourful with colour seatings and decoration. It is definitely very eye catching. We came here for their interesting 2-in-1 lunch set. The set lunch consist of 1/2 nasi lemak, 1/2 chicken rice, 2 fried chicken winglets, few slices of steamed chicken, ikan bilis & peanuts and 2 types chilli sauces. It also comes with a glass of iced lemongrass drink. A good lunch set for those who cant decide to have nasi lemak or chicken rice. For $9.90, the meal is quite nice and value for money.
