On the last day of the three-day holiday, we went to the Arima Toy Museum in Arima Onsen. There were lots of wooden toys, so even toddlers could play there calmly! The explanation session on the toys was also very interesting. Arima Onsen, located in Arimacho, Kita-ku, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture (Settsu Province), is one of Japan's three oldest hot springs. It was also counted among the three famous hot springs in the Pillow Book. Additionally, during the Muromachi period, Banri Shuku included it along with Kusatsu Onsen and Gero Onsen as the 'Three Famous Hot Springs,' and in the Edo period, Hayashi Razan also referred to these three hot springs as the 'Three Famous Hot Springs of the Realm' (Japan's Three Famous Hot Springs). In the Edo period's hot spring ranking, it was rated as the highest rank, Nishi Ozeki. Arima Toy Museum has a collection of over 4,000 toys. Not only can you appreciate rare toys from all over the world, but you can also play with them. It is a toy kingdom hidden in the mountains. This year, a new hotel - HOTEL ALGO - has opened in the Arima Toy Museum. There are only 4 rooms in total, each with a tatami space for indoor games. The desks are themed around the studios of toy creators associated with the Arima Toy Museum, and the rooms are equipped with design drawings, works, and tools that have been actually used, presenting the behind-the-scenes situation of toy production, which is very wonderful. As long as it is during the museum's opening hours, guests can enjoy the toy collection or experience various toys at any time. The front desk of HOTEL ALGO and the hamburger and sandwich restaurant SABOR are both on the second floor. At SABOR, you can eat hamburgers made from the rare brand beef 'Danma Kuro' certified by Kobe beef, homemade lemonade and matcha latte.
