The small Potter Children's Garden is thoughtfully designed, and turning a corner feels like stepping into the American West desert. I saw a cactus grown into a tree for the first time! There's a pine tree that looks straight out of a children's illustration. As we walked, I realized how little I know about plants. Every park visit, we bring sandwiches and boxed milk. The large lawns are ideal for walking dogs and flying kites. After a full day, the kids were so tired they fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep until we got home.
