📅 Travel Itinerary I'll share the itinerary of one weekend during my study abroad! First of all, cafes in Brisbane close around 2pm, and many other restaurants close early, so be careful! Day 1: Walking around Brisbane City Morning at O ​​bagel (as the name suggests, the bagels are excellent) Walking around the city, you can see many large churches⛪️ Walking to SouthBank, the Brisbane Monument and the artificial beach were wonderful! For lunch, we went to Guzman y Gomez-Albert Lane (a Mexican restaurant that my friend who was on a working holiday highly praised🌮) After dinner, we went to the Sky Deck of The Star Brisbane, a building that was just completed last year. You can get a panoramic view of Brisbane and it's really beautiful. After a short break, we took the ferry to Eat street market. The ferry ride was fun and the view was great! At Eat Street Market, you can buy food from various countries for $6 to enter. There were also three live performance stages, so we could enjoy the shows while eating. The second day was also early, so that was the end of the first day. Day 2: We went to Australia Zoo. Since I was studying abroad, I cooked all my meals myself. I took the train early in the morning. Unlike Japanese zoos, I thought the animals lived in an environment that was a little closer to nature. I was able to see a lot of animals moving around, and touch kangaroos and koalas. They were so cute~🐨 Also, various animal shows were held at different times. My favorites were the tiger🐅 and crocodile🐊 shows. #australiatrip #australia

Australia Zoo, home of The Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, is generally considered worth a visit. There is relatively good range of animals and we agree that what stood out is their spacious and well-kept enclosures. It is clean and doesn’t smell. The animals look like they are well looked after. The area is divided into numerous theme-liked sectors ; Wildlife Warriors Show, Roo Heaven, Koala Walk Through, Croc School, Bindi's Island etc and there are substantial number of pictures dedicated to Steve Irwin, as you walk along the zoo. It’s cool to see his legacy evident in the place where he spent years building. There are areas where kangaroos/wallabies are free to roam and free to touch - a place where the boys happily took wefies and interact for hours. For me , I am planning to just observe/take photos of the animals. The boys also love the animal encounters and being the zoo keeper for a day program too, unfortunately the Koala encounter is very pricey - most expensive among the lots. Prior, we read up on a family doing a meerkat experience, about having maximum 2 pax over 15 mins and all it involved was entering the enclosures and sitting down, while the keeper used treats to get the meerkats to interact and climb over them. There would be a photographer that would take pictures of them which they can eventually purchase. I thought it was tad rough to pull the "you have to buy encounters for everyone in the group to attend" line, especially if we have a family of 3 or 4. Mum and dad or a single parent and child would be able to do it, while the others would watch. We had late lunch before the boys eagerly waited to watch the massive croc launch a strike from the water's edge, led by Robert Irwin. I must say that It was a neat presentation, nothing too wow. Their Conservation-Focused #australiazoo is commendable and apart from being a popular choice, I supposed the other well-travelled individuals/families would agree that other wildlife parks in Southeast Asia offer a more affordable and impressive wildlife experience.

#summervacay Steve Irwin’s legacy is alive and well at Australia Zoo. The place is huge and beautifully kept. I watched an epic crocodile feeding show at the Crocoseum and learned a ton about wildlife conservation. Feeding kangaroos and petting a koala were unforgettable moments. The zoo has everything from tigers and rhinos to cassowaries and wombats. It’s so interactive and personal, and you can tell the animals are well loved. An absolute must for animal lovers.

Had such a great time visiting Aus Zoo! It was clean and there were so many shows that we could watch! I was so immersed in the crocodile show (probably because of Robert Irwin!) that I forgot to take videos or pictures haha! It’s not too far from CBD if you have a car - around 1 hr and 15 minutes. But if you’re taking the train, it’ll take you about 2 hours from Central Station 😊

It is very suitable for a walk when you are bored. Sometimes the staff will give you some small benefits. For example, today we are letting everyone touch the koala, which is awesome.

So big variety of different animals, fantastic show with the stories about them. Huge territory with lots of cafe, water drinking stations, toilets and souvenir shops. Zoo is kept so clean, neat and tidy. We missed a show with tigers and will come back to have a look at this one later.

In between of Brisbane and Sunshine lies a famous zoo called the Australia Zoo which once belong to the ever famous Steve Irwin The Crocodile Hunter. Since his passing, the irwin family has now been taking care of the animals making this a very popular tourists attraction. Australia Zoo is located at 1638 Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah QLD 4519 which is also named after him. The world renowned Zoo is 700 acre in size consisting from birds, mammals like Dingo, cheetah, kangaroo, wallaby and even reptiles which of course includes crocodiles. The Zoo also has a conservatory for native wildlife that might be injured due to accidents outside of the Zoo.
