Food standard still remains the same. This is one of the best Thai restaurant, where you get to eat authentic Thai food which tastes fresh and good, and is reasonably priced. Hence they are my go-to place whenever I’m in town. All their dishes were delicious, but the crème de la creme is their stir fry cabbage. Such an unassuming dish, but wow, the wok-hei taste is so strong! Brought my colleagues here to try out some authentic Thai cuisine, and Ban Khun Mae didn’t disappoint. The restaurant has a charming, rustic feel — from its wooden interiors to the warm, traditional touches — making the entire dining experience feel very homely and authentic. One great sign? There were quite a number of locals dining there when we arrived, which always bodes well. We ordered a variety of classic Thai dishes to share, and everything from the appetizers to mains came out beautifully plated and full of flavour. Each dish was well-balanced — rich, aromatic, and cooked with care. I especially enjoyed the desserts; they were simple yet packed with flavour — a sweet way to end a hearty meal. Considering the restaurant is located right inside MBK, I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced everything was. For the quality, taste, and ambience, it was definitely great value. Day 2: Went to Wat Arun temple nearby, took a boat ride on the river. Visited local markets around Rama III. Relaxed in the evening at a coffee shop. Day 3: Visited Chatuchak market in the morning (weekend only). Came back to Rama III and explored some small local streets and food stalls. 🏨 Accommodation Stayed at a hotel by the river in Rama III. It was quiet, clean, and the view was nice. Good place to relax after busy days in Bangkok. 🍴 Food Recommendations • Try the local Thai food stalls near Central Rama 3 mall. • Pizza Company in the mall is simple and good. • Riverside restaurants have nice views and tasty food. • Don’t miss coffee shops in the area for a break. 📌 Tips • Use Grab app to get around easily. • Traffic can be heavy during rush hours, so plan ahead. • Dress modestly if you visit temples nearby. • Bring cash for small markets and street food.
