Bardini Greatest Paradise
The Bardini Gardens in Florence are a unique place, they are located next to the equally famous Boboli Gardens and the Pitti Palace. They are not as famous as Boboli, but that's why they are no less interesting. Peace, quiet, great views of the Arno River and the old center of Florence.
The Bardini Gardens are just a stone's throw from Michelangelo Square! An interesting place, especially striking is the view of the city! You will see an English garden, a rose garden and a small museum. And there is also a good cafe, where I also advise you to look. It is especially pleasant to walk here in spring and summer, when the gardens are in bloom. The place is suitable for those who like to walk alone – you don't often meet other tourists in the vast territory.
The history of the gardens begins in the XVI century, when the Mozzie family buys land for a family estate on the banks of the Arno River. The palazzo was on a steep slope, but the view of Florence is simply amazing. The city is at a glance.
Today, the gardens of Villa Bardini are considered one of the most beautiful in all of Italy.
On the territory you will see a rose garden, gazebos and even a small temple. There are also grottoes, fountains, ponds, and a waterfall. You can have coffee in the cafeteria or even have lunch in the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by a small bookstore.
In the summer months, you will see blooming roses, irises, wisteria, hydrangeas and a great variety of flowers and citrus trees. A romantic walk, a place for lovers of photos and scenic views.
The gardens can be reached on foot – cross the Ponte alle Grazie bridge, walk straight all the time – the gardens are located almost immediately after crossing the Arno River. Or go through the Ponte Vecchio, and then parallel to the river along Via dei Bardi – straight to the gardens.
