The day started early (and I mean early) at Seoul Station. I grabbed a coffee, boarded the KTX, and two and a half smooth hours later, I was stepping into Busan — South Korea’s laid-back coastal city that feels like a breath of fresh, sea-salted air. First stop? Gamcheon Culture Village. I’d seen photos before, but nothing beats wandering those bright alleyways in person. Each corner is packed with art, color, and charm. It’s quirky, artsy, and full of tiny shops and cafes that feel like little treasures waiting to be discovered. After that, I made my way to Jagalchi Market — a must if you’re into seafood. It’s loud, local, and full of energy. I sat down for a plate of sashimi that was probably swimming that morning. So fresh, so good. In the afternoon, I headed to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple — and wow. It’s perched right on the coast, with waves crashing against the rocks below. Peaceful, scenic, and a totally different vibe from the temples you find in the city. If you're going sightseeing in Busan, the Visit Pass is a good deal! There are so many places you want to visit in Busan for the first time! I bought the card-type Visit Busan first. My friend bought the electronic Visit ticket because it was sold out. The card type can also function as t-money, so if you're new to Korea, I recommend the card. The electronic version only has the function of a Visit. It's valid for 24 hours from the first facility, so plan your visit accordingly! The Sky Rouge opens at 10am You can ride it twice for free. We moved on to the nearby Lotte Amusement Park. It's worth it just for this! We got greedy and stopped off at the Lego next to Lotte Amusement Park. The ice cream was cute, so we went to the cafe. In the evening, we returned to Haeundae and went to X the sky, the world's most expensive Starbucks. If you show your Visit card, it's free here too! After that, we had dinner nearby and went to Clubb Oasis, the building next to X the sky. You can enter the spa here empty-handed! Towels and indoor wear are free if you show your visit card! You can enter the hotel by 9pm, so it was great to have a nice relaxing bath at the end. Since the Sky Capsule Train operates on elevated tracks while the Coastal Train runs on ground-level tracks, you need to go up to the second floor to board the Sky Capsule Train. The Coastal Train and ticket office are located on the first floor. Inside the capsule, there is a fan and windows, making it not too hot. The ride lasts about half an hour, and we played music on our phone during the trip. To our surprise, the capsule even has a built-in non-electric speaker, which is incredibly thoughtful. Recommended way to ride: For the outbound trip (Wee-Po → Cheongsapo), the Sky Capsule Train travels on the outer track, while for the return trip (Cheongsapo → Wee-Po), it travels on the inner track. Many travelers suggest taking the Sky Capsule Train for the outbound trip (Wee-Po → Cheongsapo) to enjoy unobstructed views of the sea. Small Seafood Set (15,000 KRW): Extremely fresh and highly recommended! If you're visiting with a group, consider ordering the large set. The small set we ordered included marinated crab, marinated shrimp, abalone, salmon, and octopus tentacles, with 1-2 pieces of each. 📍Sky Hub Lounge at Gimhae Airport Opening time: 6:30 AM Here’s a review of the newly opened Sky Hub Lounge at Gimhae Airport. Since I had a morning flight, I went there right at the opening time. There was only one person already in line, but if your flight is soon, I recommend lining up about 5 minutes early to get in quickly. The food is similar to what was offered in the previous lounge, but perhaps because I was there early, it tasted better. As it’s a new facility, everything was clean and well-maintained. Busan Bada Sand is a small and cute cream biscuit specialty store located near Haeundae subway station. It has no other branches, only this one store. As soon as I stepped into the store, I smelled the tempting caramel cream aroma. I bought two boxes, one for myself and one for a friend. (A box of 9 pieces/about NT$390) It tasted ordinary, the biscuits were soft, and the cream was easy to melt when brought back to Taiwan, but the packaging design was very delicate and suitable for gifts. It is still worth buying.
