Timaru is an important port city in the Canterbury region of New Zealand, located on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand, in the Canterbury Bay, between Oamaru and Christchurch. It covers an area of 33.98 square kilometers, with an elevation range from 0 to 95 meters.

- Caroline Bay: A beautiful, pristine bay surrounded by numerous cafes, parks, and gardens, as well as the historic Breakwater Lighthouse. From October to March, you can also see little blue penguins.
