While in Trapani, we decided to visit Mount Erice, which is in proximity to the city. We took the cable car to get to the top and while seated comfortably in the little cabin, we enjoyed some breath-taking moments adminiring the views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea from an altitude of 500 m above sea level. Once on top, we visit the small town of Erice, where we stopped for one of the most amazing pizzas I have ever tasted! An overall awesome day!#familytrip #localguides

The city of stone seemed to have hibernated to escape the winter cold, and there was no sign of people. If I were to describe Erice’s winter, I would say that high is not enough, and silence would be more appropriate. There were only about ten or so travelers like us who visited the quiet city of Erice, and the shiny stone floor absorbed even the sound of people’s footsteps, and the murmur of their voices was trapped between the solid walls, so the only human sound was the coughing of two or three people we happened to encounter while walking down the alley. It seemed like everyone in Erice in winter was practicing their Tao in the solid stone. #Sicily #Erice

Then take the cable car up to the mountain town of Erice. 🔶Walk along the path on the edge of the mountain city to Venus Castle🔶 After getting off the cable car, follow the path to the Giardino del Balio viewing gardens. Here you can admire the Castello di Venere (Venus Castle) and the Torri Pepoli (Pepoli Towers), towers built on the cliff, which make the view very unique. This is Erice's classic shooting position.
