We were privileged to visit the palace as were were given a private tour by one of the guard officer of the vice president. The regular tours were already stopped at that time as they were preparing for the handover after the election. The palace sits on an expansive lot overlooking the Manila Bay. Our tour guide explained every room and the significance of the furniture and decor. It was very informative. A large percentage of the palace and its furniture are made coconut wood. The overall look was splendid. When we visited the rooms, they looked grand and there were interesting stories behind them. I heard that it will not be used for the new vice president as she opted to live somewhere else. So the place will be again open for private events or renting it for weddings.
