The trail is simple and easy to walk. Enter from the entrance this time. Walk along the trail to the second pavilion and then turn back. The round trip takes about 20-30 minutes. For those who want to take a leisurely walk, this stretch is just right. You can enjoy the vast Pacific Ocean along the way. The road ahead feels more rugged. For us who are holding the dog, it is a bit uneasy. So I decided to quit while I was ahead and save some energy to continue the next journey. After coming down the mountain, a flying fish sausage to replenish energy! When we return to the trailhead, we can’t miss the “Boss Flying Fish” on the opposite side. They sell flying fish sausages here. They are baked to a crispy outside and tender inside. The freshness and smoky aroma of flying fish burst in your mouth. Perfect as a snack to replenish energy! A simple trail trip, without too much burden, But you can feel the magnificent scenery of Hualien coast. Add a flying fish sausage to make it the perfect ending. When you come to Shoufeng, this trail is definitely worth planning!

We embarked on a three-day, two-night trip to Hualien and visited Dashibi Mountain on the eastern coast. Located at the southern end of the Qizai Coastal Recreation Area, this small hill juts out from the coastline. Our guide mentioned that it looks like a big nose and somewhat like a turtle shell, hence the names 'Dashibi Mountain' or 'Turtle Hermitage Mountain.' Dashibi Mountain has a hiking trail that loops around to the seaside. Most of the steps are made of wooden sleepers and stones, with gentle slopes that make for a comfortable walk. It takes less than an hour to complete the trail. At the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Highway 11, Qizai Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. The view is excellent, but there's no shade, so it can get quite hot! Across from the parking lot, there's a stall selling indigenous sausages. Our guide recommended the grilled flying fish roe sausages, so we bought some to try. They have a unique sea flavor and are quite delicious.

There is free parking at the entrance.  • Public Transportation: Take Taiwan Travel Bus No. 304 along the East Coast Line of Huilan, get off at "Dashibishan Trail Station", and walk for about 1 minute to reach the trail entrance.  ⸻ 📝 Personal experience Dashibi Mountain Trail, also known as "Guian Mountain Trail", is located at the southern end of Jiqi Seaside Recreation Area in Fengbin Township, Hualien County. It is a hiking trail with a total length of about 750 to 910 meters. It takes about 1 hour to complete the entire journey.  Most of the trail is made of sleepers and stone steps, and along the way you can see abundant plants such as wild lilies, sweet olives, and alliums, as well as various insects.  After reaching the top, you can overlook the entire Isozaki Bay and the blue Pacific Ocean and enjoy a 360-degree unparalleled sea view.  There are two pavilions along the trail for tourists to rest. Currently, due to maintenance of some sections of the road, it is recommended to return after reaching the second pavilion.   In addition, there is a popular flying fish sausage stand opposite the trail entrance.
