2025 New Castle County Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

During the 2025 July 4th Independence Day, the Greater Wilmington area and Brandywine Valley in Delaware will host celebrations featuring fireworks displays, patriotic festivals, and family fun. At the University of Delaware, attendees can enjoy food and entertainment starting at 6 PM, with fireworks beginning at 9:15 PM and lasting until around 10 PM. The Hockessin July 4th Celebration is a nearly 50-year-old volunteer-driven tradition supported by donations, kicking off with a morning relay race, followed by an afternoon parade and evening fireworks. On July 5th, Rodney Square in downtown Wilmington offers a free, family-friendly Independence Day celebration from noon to 3 PM, featuring live music, cultural performances, children's games, and local food trucks.
